COVID-19 Community Based Testing Expanding All San Joaquin Residents

Available for residents regardless of whether they are showing symptoms

Stockton, Calif. – Two, free, COVID-19 testing sites are now available in San Joaquin County. This  is in response to Governor Newsom’s request to work to scale up testing quickly. As the capacity  for testing has increased, criteria are expanding according to guidance from the California  Department of Public Health.

The drive-through testing site, Project Baseline in French Camp, is only open to people in four- wheel, closed-top, non-commercial,
non-recreational vehicles. Individuals must have an appointment  and will be asked to provide their confirmation information upon arrival at the testing site.  COVID-19 eligibility can be determined by completing the screening at Testing through Project Baseline is provided free of charge Monday through Saturday.

The newest public test site, a walk-in location, is at Lodi Public Library. The State of California has joined together with OptumServe to expand testing services for underserved communities and some  of California’s most vulnerable patients. Tests are by appointment only. Make an appointment at If you do not have internet access, call 1-888-634- 1123. Appointments are available on weekdays.

Anyone can be tested at the OptumServe community-testing site, including uninsured, underinsured, undocumented, and homeless individuals. OptumServe will generate a unique identification number for individuals who do not have a driver’s license. If you have medical insurance, OptumServe will bill your insurance company, but there will not be a co-pay. Tests for uninsured individuals will be paid for by the state.
