The Escalon Police Explorer Post is a co-educational program and is affiliate with the Boy Scouts of America.
The focus of the Explorer Program is to allow young people to interact with members of the Police Department as well as the community as they consider a possible career in Law Enforcement. They are also able to ride along with officers on patrol and assist them with some of their duties.
They also volunteer their time for many organizations including the Escalon Park Fete and National Night Out. The Explorers also volunteer to assist in other events, such as traffic control during parades, security at school events, and other events within the county.
The Escalon Police Department currently has two Explorer Advisers. Sergeant Gus Flores, and Officer Ryan Smith. They are assisted by other members of the department to include our reserve officers. The advisers oversee the entire Explorer Program from backgrounds to community involvement.
