Short Range Transit Plan 2024
We are excited to share the details of our ongoing efforts to enhance and optimize our local transit system. The SRTP is a comprehensive planning document that outlines our vision for public transportation over the next several years. This plan is essential for ensuring that our transit services continue to meet the needs of our growing community.

What is the Short-Range Transit Plan?
The Short-Range Transit Plan is a strategic blueprint designed to guide the development and improvement of Escalon’s public transit system. The SRTP aims to:
Assess the current state of our transit services, including Route 35 and the Dial-A-Ride service.
Identify opportunities for service enhancements and expansions.
Address community needs and priorities.
Ensure compliance with regional, state, and federal funding requirements.

Key Milestones of the SRTP Project
The SRTP project is structured into several key milestones to ensure a thorough and effective planning process:

1. Existing Conditions Report:
Detailed assessment of the current transit services, including operational statistics and performance metrics.
Analysis of travel patterns and demographic data to identify service gaps and areas for improvement.
2. Community Engagement:
Conduct surveys and public meetings to gather input from residents and stakeholders.
Use feedback to shape the development of service recommendations and priorities.
3. System and Service Evaluation:
Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of existing transit services.
Develop recommendations for service modifications, enhancements, and potential new routes.
4. Draft SRTP Preparation:
Compile findings and recommendations into a comprehensive draft document.
Present the draft SRTP to the community for review and feedback.
5. Final SRTP Approval:
Incorporate community feedback into the final SRTP document.
Present the final plan to the City Council for approval and adoption.

How You Can Participate
Community involvement is crucial to the success of the SRTP. We invite all residents to participate in the planning process and share their insights and suggestions. Here’s how you can get involved:
Attend Public Meetings: Join our public meetings to learn more about the SRTP and provide your input. Meeting schedules and locations will be posted on this webpage.
Complete Surveys: Participate in online surveys to share your transit experiences and suggestions for improvement.
Stay Informed: Follow our updates on the eTrans website and social media channels to stay informed about the project’s progress and upcoming events.
Contact Us: Reach out to our project team at Innovate Mobility with any questions or comments via email or call 714-886-9580.

Your feedback is invaluable in shaping a transit system that meets the needs of all Escalon residents. Together, we can create a more efficient, accessible, and sustainable transit future for our community.

For more additional information, please  contact John Andoh, Transit Manager at (209) 691-7465.
